{March 14th - 17th}
Three of my girlfriends and I had the most awesome girls weekend in Chicago for St Patty's Day weekend. My friend Rachel is graduating med school this may and found out her residency match on Friday. She has been lucky enough to do most of her 4th yr rotations in Denver but had to be back in Chicago for the month of March. Three of us found a great deal and decided to fly out for the weekend to help her celebrate so she wasn't by herself!!
I have had a really hard time the last several months with supposedly good friends of mine being shady and have basically been feeling left out and unsupported. I've been trying to stop spending energy being upset and getting my feelings hurt and trying to just focus on my girlfriends who are awesome to me all the time. This weekend was exactly what I needed and was the best time with three of these incredible friends.
Everyone just clicked great... We had a good mix of doing touristy things and just hanging out. There was so much laughing and inside jokes and it was overall the perfect getaway weekend. Love these girls so much!!
(And missing a few more that couldn't make the trip with us!)
Starting out at Wrigley Field
we met up with Rachel's class at Goose Island Brewery to open her envelope and find out where she'll be for residency.
The anticipation was so much fun!
Here is the series...
(we FaceTime'd in Dave since he couldn't be there)
She got her first choice and was stoked!!
I am so so proud of this girl and even more excited she'll be back in Denver!
Next we hit up 'the Bean' and browsed Michigan Ave in the freezing rain.
Celebrating St Patty's Day with drinks in the Signature Lounge, at the top of the Hancock building.
I didn't get any more pics of the rest of the weekend but we also
-hit up a comedy show at Second City
-had IHOP at midnight
-picked up $3 wine and snacks at Trader Joe's and vegged in the hotel
-went to the Museum of Science and Industry
-at at the awesome restaurant The Bristol
Loved my weekend away with these awesome girls!
