Easter 2014

{April 20th}

Brian's parents were in town for Easter weekend and we loved having them here!
We had a pretty low key weekend and didn't do much.
Besides the neighborhood egg hunt, we also hid eggs in the back yard for Braxton to find.
He was really excited last year when he found out there was candy in the eggs but again, he didn't show any real urgency this year.
I'm guessing next year when Everett is around to give him some competition he might be a little more into it.

Everett just got snuggled by Nana the whole time

Dying Easter Eggs

Neighborhood Egg Hunt

{April 19th}

Our neighborhood puts on an egg hunt for all the kids every year and this is the first year we've been able to go.
Braxton gets super shy when he's around people he doesn't know or big crowds so he wasn't as pumped as I thought he'd be.
He had no real urgency to collect the eggs and just took his time walking around slowly picking a few up.
Once he found a piece of candy he was interested in, he really could have cared less about finding any more eggs.
So glad our neighborhood puts on things like this... hopefully he'll be a little more competitive next year!

2 Months

{April 19th}

My sweet boy is already 2 months!
I don't remember being a fan of the newborn stage when Braxton was a baby but I feel like I am enjoying it much more this time around.
I am trying to soak up his tiny little self since I know he will get big so fast!

2 Month check up stats:

Weight - 12 lbs 9 oz (55%)
Height - 24" (88%)
Head Size - 42 cm(?) (99%)

He's basically tall with a big head.

We got our first intentional smiles at 6 weeks to the day.
He also started making baby noises and cooing around then too.
We had to work so hard to get smiles out of Braxton until he was about 4 months old but Everett is such a cheeser!
He smiles like crazy if you just talk to him... I love it!

It seems we have gotten his feeding on more of a regular schedule but he eats more often in the evenings.
He goes down around 8:30/9, sleeps until 2 or 3 or so, and then wakes up again around 6:30 or 7 am.

He is such a laid back baby!
He really only fusses or cries when he's hungry, has a burp stuck, or is tired.
He'll also holler at you when you leave him by himself for too long.

He is a pretty efficient eater.
He usually just nurses on one side and is done in about 10 minutes.
At night, he eats and falls right back to sleep.

He loves to snuggle up on our shoulder.

He has found his hands and will go to town on them when he gets hungry.

His hands are always cold.
I swear I don't keep my house cold and I keep dressed but his little fingers are always a tad cold.

He pees so much!
Braxton only peed on us a total of about 5 times.  Ever.
Everett pees when we change him at least every other day.  We have to be quick!

He is totally filling out 0-3 month clothes and has even outgrown some of them.

The hair on the top of his head has started to grow back in but he still has the bald spot in the back of his head leaving him with a little mullet.

He definitely looks like his brother but has darker coloring (and a wider head).
He must have gotten his tan skin from his dad because it certainly wasn't from me!

He loves to watch Braxton!
Anytime Braxton is playing close he just watches him happily.
I can't wait until he gets bigger and they can interact a little more.

We are loving this little peanut so much!
