May Updates

Cinco de Mayo party tamale making party at the Kaplan's!
Love our neighbors so much... the best quarantine crew!!

Brian took the big boys down to check out a (new to us) bike trail/park down in Parker and fun to reunite with some old friends!

When the boys get your phone

Bubbles

Everett's diorama for school

Grayson being a helper and a scavenger.  We call him our little raccoon

Cutest friends!  These two are either lovers or fighters

Putting the boys to work with chores

Grayson learned to ride his bike without training wheels!! He can totally do it, but whines and fusses the whole time.  We've since regressed and he makes excuses and won't do it anymore, so now its just a matter of will power.

Enjoying the nice weather- we had such a great spring! Thank God, so we could spend so much time playing outside!  :: Keaton's note to Everett, ha

The boys left me a treasure hunt to find my Mothers Day card

Love this cute boy

Checking out the Cherry Creek Ecological Park with friends!  What an awesome find!!  This fun little creek and sand area that was perfect for even the little boys to play in.

End of the School Year

Everett finished up Kindergarten and Braxton finished up 2nd Grade and it was so bitter sweet!
Like everyone else, the last 2.5 months of school were online over zoom calls and it completely broke my heart to miss out on such precious time with their teachers and classmates.

The tradition continues... we've gotten 1st and last day of school pics with these friends every year so far!  Fun to add Everett & Keaton into them.

During their last call, the tears were flowing!

Our school and all the teachers put on a parade through the neighborhood to say good bye to all the students. We had such great teachers this year and of course, more tears at our distanced goodbye.
Braxton's teacher was super special and she even put on a bi-weekly book club with a group of kids and read and met with them on zoom all throughout the summer.

I think the hardest part of the end of the year was all the events that were cancelled, specifically Kindergarten graduation.  This was such a special milestone for Braxton and it still makes me sad that Everett had to miss out.  I know he doesn't know what he missed, but I do, and it gives me a lump in my throat to think about it.
They did have a drive-by send off and of course our staff and teachers did an amazing job trying to make it as special as they could!
Still, more bittersweet tears from mama.

(our Principal, Mr. Schleich and Everetts teacher, Ms. Booth)

Grayson's preschool also put out zoom content but it was so hard for him to engage or pay much attention, and most of my time and attention was helping the bigger boys with their online work.
So Grayson pretty much ended his preschool year in March.
Again, so bittersweet to miss all the fun end of year milestones and his program.

Us moms decided to do our own "field day" one afternoon with our bus stop kids and hosted lunch, games, and tie-dye at the park.  Glad we could wrap up our school year with some fun!
