8 Months

{May 16th}

After a slow start, this second half of Grayson's life is flying by!
Probably because he is so much fun right now.

He is such a happy baby!
He just smiles and cheeses and laughs and talks to anyone who will look his way!
He has the cutest little chubby cheeks that I just want to eat up!
He gets dragged around to preschool drop off/pick up, the gym, swim lessons and errands all day and he just goes along with it.

He is so close to popping two teeth on the bottom but they haven't come through yet.
We can see them so close, and he's been kind of fussy off and on so I just want them to come up.

He still isn't on any kind of a schedule.
I'm hoping once school is out next week, we can really work on getting two consistent naps.
He has started sleeping through the night a little more.
And by a little more, I mean a few more times.
Most nights he still wakes up once, usually between 12 and 3, but he has slept all the way until 5 or 6 am so we're hoping this becomes more of a pattern, ha.

He still isn't rolling from his back to his tummy yet.
I probably wouldn't care a ton, except he still has a pretty gnarly flat spot on the back of his head so I'd love for him to be able to roll and become a tummy sleeper.
I think we're gonna start putting him down for naps on his tummy and see how he likes it.

He still hates to be on his tummy and immediately rolls to his back if we let him.
Which obviously means he isn't attempting to scoot around or crawl anywhere.
If we prop him up on his hands and knees he'll hang out there for a bit and even rock back and forth some, but thats about it.

He's started to reach out more for things that aren't right next to him, which has been a big deal.
We're hoping it makes him less cautious and he'll fall down to his tummy and be forced to wiggle/roll around more.

He still loooves the jumperoo and goes nuts in that thing.
He also loves standing and can hold his own weight for quite a while.
Who knows... maybe we'll just skip the crawling stage and go straight to walking?

We've been trying to teach him to clap.
He loves to put his hands on ours when we do it and when we move his hands.
And we can tell he's excited and studying us when we do it for him... so I think he's just working it out in his little brain, ha.

He's gotten so much better about eating lately.
He's started to eat/like baby food a little more than before, but still prefers table food.
He has started to use his little pinchers and feed himself better too.
He loves veggie straws and Bamba- these puffs with peanut powder on them.
He also love yogurt melts, regular puffs, strawberries and bananas.

On the other side, he is a total pain to feed the bottle to right now!
He will only drink in 30 second intervals (at best) before he shoves it away and takes a minute break.
For the whole freaking bottle.
He chugs it no problem in the middle of the night and he does pretty good if he's really sleepy and falling asleep. Every other bottle of the day takes forever.
At first I thought he was just distracted with other people around or whatever but he does the same thing if we are in another room too.

He babbles and hollers a ton but no words yet.
He also does not like to be set down and left alone too long.
He'll really start whining and hollering if he wants you to come pay attention to him.

He still loves mama the best but those big brothers are catching up quick!
He just loves them!
Anytime they talk to him or pay him any attention, he eats it up!
They have been better about talking to him/playing with him some so that has been encouraging.

He is so ticklish and has become such a little belly laugher.
He always chuckles when we change his diaper or get him dressed.

He loves to be outside hanging out and loves to ride in the stroller.

We sure are crazy about this little love bug!!

Easter 2017

We had a sweet little Easter at home with just our little family this year.
We did our neighborhood egg hunt on Saturday afternoon.
Then on Sunday, the Easter bunny came, we went to church and then the boys hunted eggs in the backyard.

Although pretty uneventful, the boys ate up every bit of it!
Holiday are so fun with little kids!

Grayson was the only one happy about taking pictures after church
