Grayson is 2!

{September 16th}

Somehow another year has flown by and our baby is TWO!

This buddy runs the family.  His nicknames include Boss Baby and Jack Jack (from Incredibles 2).

He is super demanding in the mornings.  He usually wants Brian to get him out of bed.  He is picky about breakfast and rarely eats the same thing, or even a normal meal.  He just wants bites of what everyone else has.  I couldn't even tell you what he likes to eat for breakfast.
He also likes to go outside with Brian when he leaves for work and sit in his car and pretend to drive.

His vocabulary and talking have totally exploded in the last 2 months or so.
He repeats almost everything we say and is starting to put together full sentences.
His first full phrase was: "I need that", haha.
Other favorites are:
I dont know
I want that please
Don't break it
Oh my goodness

This buddy is tall and skinny!  With big feet!!
He's in 18-24 mth clothes for the most part.
Wears 12 mth shorts
and size 6 shoes (almost 7!)

He has also busted some major attitude lately!
Its still at the point where its really cute and not debilitating, but seems earlier than the other boys.
When he doesn't get his way he starts pouting- legit crosses his arms, huffs, and furrows his brow with his lip sticking out.
We love it so much he knows to do it on demand now, but will start cracking up a few seconds later.

He loves to be outside and has just recently started to pick up riding his bike, scooting around good on the wiggle cars/y-bike and scooting on the scooter.
He is also obsessed with the hose, Brian's power washer and especially the lawn mower!
Before his talking took off, he would just repeat "dada mow" over and over and over.

He is definitely a daddy's boy but is within a foot of me all day every day when dad is at work.
He is horrible at playing independently and will barely even go play with his brothers still.
His other favorite people are our neighbors, the Kaplans.
Besides our immediate family and grandparents, they are the first people that he calls by name and loves them so much!
"hi Danielle!"  "Brandon mow" "hi Keaton" "Parker and Keaton!"

We celebrated his birthday with a little BBQ with our close friends and neighbors.
And for his real birthday, we had donuts and had our last swim day of the season at our pool!
Pretty special way to celebrate our baby!

Besides breakfast, he's a pretty good eater.  I can't really identify anything he always eats or refuses to eat... kind of depends on what he's feeling that day.  But he usually eats a good lunch and dinner.  He does love all fruit, cheese, french fries and every kind of sweet/candy.  Especially donuts- they might be his favorite.
He is also great at eating popsicles!

He loves to songs and will sing along to ABC's, Jesus Loves Me, Rockabye Baby, and Swing Low Sweet Chariot.
He has also gotten into reading books but is very particular which ones we read.
Its pretty much the same 10 over and over.
His favorites include: Dinosaur Dance, Little Blue Truck, Brown Bear, Little Mouse and the Red Ripe Strawberry, Hello Ninja, Never Touch a Monster.

He still hates the carseat and arches/fights every time we get in the car.
Every Single Time.
He is also the worst passenger... he hollers at me nonstop demanding things or demanding to get out.

He is the worst boy to take on errands.
He refuses to sit in the cart longer than 3 minutes, even if you continuously bribe him with snacks and treats.
He has to be out, and help push the cart (ram it into things) or hop on and off for a ride about a thousands times.
It seriously takes us FOREVER to get through a store... and forget about browsing anywhere!
I just never had this much of an issue with the other boys, especially by this age.  They were both so chill just riding in the cart and tagging along on my errands.  I feel like most of the time its because he sees his big brothers outside of the cart and thats why he refuses but he is just as bad when I have him alone with me.

He is not into TV shows or movies.  At all.
He will watch Mickey Mouse for about 5-10 minutes now but really isn't interested.
He will watch kids YouTube, though.   Several of the videos will hold his attention for awhile and he loves the dancing ones.  But its more of a pain for us because (a) the other boys always have a conflicting opinion of what to watch and (b) we have to sit there and actively manage the changing videos and ads

He just started Playschool two mornings a week and has done really well so far!
He obviously freaks out and cries when I drop him off but they say he calms down within a few minutes and has a great day!
It's definitely a much needed break for me those two mornings for a few hrs.

He has been our worst sleeper of all the boys.
He hasn't been sleeping through the night consistently until about a month ago.
And even now, he'll still get up screaming every once in awhile.
It seems like he has always been dealing with teeth coming in or sickness or traveling and couldn't get into a good routine until now.

This buddy has been the WORST teether- ugh.
He is soooo drooly, whiney, needy, and sleeps horrible when he's teething.
Which has been for the last year and a half straight.
His last 4 have FINALLY popped through so we're hoping he'll chill out a little.
Until 2 year molars come in.

He is such a little ham and likes to be the life of the party.
He loves dancing and will usually start bopping or bust out his signature move (the hammer!) when a good beat comes on.
He loves to act silly, spin around, and do or say anything to get the big boys laughing at him (which usually involves naughty words/phrases, spitting, etc...)

We really are all obsessed with this little peanut of ours.
Even Everett has come around and adores him as well.
He completes our family and we love him so dang much!

1st Day of School (Everett & Grayson)

{September 5th and September 17th}

The little boys started school after Labor Day weekend- Everett on the 5th and Grayson a few weeks later.
Grayson couldn't start until he was officially 2 years old so his first day was right after his birthday.

Everett was ready and excited for his first day!
And it was such a different experience from last year- he was so brave and walked right into his class with no tears!
So proud of this boy!!
Can you even handle this cuteness?!

Grayson wanted in on this action

With his teachers, Ms Erin and Ms Nikki.
Braxton had Ms Nikki last year in Kindergarten and we LOVE her!! (plus, her twin girls babysit for us!)  So we requested her class with Ms Erin and were so happy we got them.

Grayson's 1st day of Playschool!
Getting his 1st day of school pics weren't as easy, ha!

2 going on 16!

He was pretty aprehensive when we walked in his room.  He clung to me for a little bit and then wanted to explore the room a little.  He even climbed up to wash his hands on his own (Cute!).
But when he sensed I was leaving, he lost it.  He was so sad.
He's cried at every drop off but its getting a little less each time so we're making progress.
And his teachers say he has a good day each time and he's happy when we pick him up.
This break a couple mornings a week has been so good for both of us!
