{July 28}
We have a mover and a shaker!
Braxton has progressed his scoot to a full on bear crawl and he explores all over the house.
He can pull up and walk along anything and stand up by himself in the middle of a room.
He has also taken a few steps, but he sees us get excited then he gets excited and then he starts face diving towards us after 1 or 2 steps.
He has also learned to crawl up stairs and he is fast!
Has discovered cabinets and how to open them.
His favorites right now are the ones in our bathroom. We usually just let him get in there and play each morning while we're getting ready.
Then last week he whacked the nail polish bottle on the tile and broke it open.
Luckily Brian grabbed him before he got any nail polish on him and we were able to get it off the tile and grout pretty easy.
(And of course it wasn't clear polish...)
Has started throwing temper tantrums.
When he gets frustrated (when he's pushing something and it gets stuck) or if you take away something he can't have, he throws a full on fit. Instant crying and jumping, stomping and arched back.
Loves to make funny faces at himself in the mirror.
We took him off all dairy and that has seemed to help the gas pain problems. We are also in the process of transitioning him off formula onto soy milk before his surgery.
He has started to get separation anxiety.
He has never cried when Brian has dropped him off at daycare but just started to this last month.
Unless his favorite teacher, Ms. Robin, is there.... he doesn't like when we leave him anymore.
He also won't got to anyone else if we are holding him or around.
It takes him a good 10-15 minutes to warm up to anyone, if he does at all.
He has become so affectionate and I love it!
It's probably part of the separation anxiety, but he crawls over to us just to give us hugs and snuggle all the time.
After not sleeping for 5 weeks, we started round 2 of sleep training.
So much harder than the first time.
When he is mad he full on screams at the top of his lungs and does throws the tantrum in the crib.
I wish I had a video of it b/c Brian and I were dying over his reaction.... standing and jumping in the crib, throwing himself all around the crib and screaming.
It also took a lot longer than last time too, which I think made it seem so much worse.
After 6-7 nights of a lot of crying, he finally started sleeping through the night again.
I have started to print out his birthday party invitations and its making me sad that he is getting older!
He is starting to look and act like a little boy more and more and although he is SO FUN right now, it still makes me nostalgic that the past year really has flown by.
We love this little Nug Bug... 11 months old!
