Christmas 2014

{December 19th - 25th}

We spent Christmas with my family this year and decided to rent a house in Frisco
for the week and meet there instead of traveling up to Montana.
We also celebrated Christmas Eve and Christmas morning early
since my cousin and his fiancé came out for a few days at the beginning of the week.

Unfortunately, Everett caught the flu or some bug at daycare a few days before we left and was so sick!
He spent a good 24 hrs puking and then had an upset tummy for 3 more days.
We thought we would be good since he was past the puking stage by the time we met up with everyone but unfortunately, he passed it on to Jeremy, Willa, Miles, my cousin Mike, and his fiancé Emily!
It was horrible.
My dad also felt bad for awhile and I got some nasty cold with chest congestion.
Luckily we all got to ski the first day we were here before it all hit and it totally went downhill.

The cutest little snow bunny at dinner our first night.

We had lots of town time to just play and hang out with everyone.

We also got about 2' of snow over two days which led to lots of fun for these little boys.

Christmas Eve and Christmas morning were good and the boys got lots of great loot!
All Braxton could talk about for weeks was how he wanted an Angry Birds suitcase he saw at Target about a month ago.
It's really random because he's never really played the game but he knows who they are.
Luckily, Santa came through and he would have been just as happy if that was all he got.
The wiggle car he got from Santa has also been a big hit.

Matching jammies for 'Christmas Eve'... our attempt at a group pic was obviously a bust

Christmas morning was fun for everyone!
I cannot even handle this little chubby body hanging out... Love these thunder thighs!

And... we discovered this little bug LOVES apples!
He couldn't get enough of chewing on the core.
If he catches you with one, he scurries over and begs for a bite.

December Updates

I'd thought I would combine our December updates with a Braxton update since I want to remember (most) of this age.

Braxton is back at extreme stages...
When he is good, he is so sweet and fun and cute and we love this age.
When he is bad, he is rotten!  The last week or so he has been back at throwing these insane tantrums.
It almost always starts when we ask him to do something and he doesn't want to do it...
So he stalls and ignores us until we start counting and threatening time-out and then he just loses it.

Again... when he is good, he has become the most fun little kid and we crack up daily at the things that come out of his mouth.
He still picks up on so much of what we say and sometimes it comes back to bite us.
He's kind of been into tattle-telling lately and we've just been telling him to worry about himself.
Then at dinner the other day, when I asked him to finish his food he turned and snapped "worry about yourself!"

He is 110% boy.  All boy, all the time.
Is is obsessed with all things cars, trains, legos, bad guys, super heroes, etc.
He is constantly putting together random contraptions with random things... the vacuum cord, his wiggle car, Brian's tools or anything else he can tie together.
He is also incredibly good at tying knots... he loves to get out rope and can tie things together with the most incredible knots (that he just makes up)

On most days, he is Batman, Spiderman, Buzz Lightyear or a Ninja Turtle.
Always shooting the bad guys and saving the day.

He is really good at playing by himself.
I love hearing his imagination and the things he comes up with when playing.

He loves dogs- especially my parents puppies that have been staying with us for the last month.
He love chasing them, walking them, running around in the snow with them, and is quick to say how much they love and miss him.

He loves all the Disney movies he's seen...
favorites include all the Toy Story's, Lion King, Cars, Monsters Inc, Frozen, and his newest favorite is Planes Fire and Rescue.
He is obsessed with his Dusty plane and the helicopters and reenacts various scenes from the movie all the time.

He is starting to play with and include Everett a little more.
There is still a fair share of guarding his toys and screaming when Everett breaks his lego creations but he loves to give brother rides around on his wiggle car and help him walk.
I LOVE when they ride around together... Braxton likes to be the driver and Everett just holds on and is so happy to be his little passenger.
Everytime they pass us, he looks up and gives us the biggest smiles.

He LOVES the snow and being outside in it.
If there is a snow bank nearby, he is head first in it before you can say to stay out.

He has gotten oddly picky about the clothes he wears and it drives me nuts.
Little boys are not supposed to be picky about what they wear at 3.
He refuses to wear any shirts with buttons and begs to just wear a super hero shirt or his OU football jersey almost every day.

He talks nonstop and is getting really good at rationalizing against us.
Such a little smarty pants.

And... the the last couple of things that don't relate to Braxton.
A date night for Brian's company Christmas party and our favorite teachers (Ms. Andrea & Ms. Kelsey) left Everett's school.
We are soo sad they left to new things- Everett adored both of them!
Here he is with Ms. Andrea on her last day.

And... a couple more from my company's kids Christmas party

10 Months

{December 19th}

Everett is all over the place...
He is so quick at crawling everywhere, pulls himself up on everything, gets into all of our cabinets, can walk with a walker, and can even stand on his own for a good 15+ seconds.
We are still guessing he might walk by Christmas so we'll see!

He still just has his bottom 2 teeth,
but his top two teeth have been swollen and bothering him so they are on the way.

He has still been doing great with table food and hasn't gagged/thrown up in the last month!
He loves blueberries, bananas, avocado, pears, peaches, apples, black beans, crackers, macaroni... really anything we've given him.
He refuses baby food at least 75% of the time but gobbles finger foods right up.
It's like he's insulted we even attempt the baby food anymore.

He is really good at signing "all done" and can do "bye bye".
We really haven't attempted anything new yet.

He loves to mimic sounds we make.
One of his new tricks he does is clicking his tongue.

When he wakes up and stands in his crib, he tries to jump when you come in the room.
(obviously learned from his older brother)

He also loves when toys play music and will bounce to the beat and dance.
He'll also dance if you start singing a song or playing music.
By far my favorite new baby trick of his!

He is a great traveler on planes but is soo busy that it is exhausting to fly with him now.
He just took his 7th trip (14th flight) in 9 months.

Loves to play and be included in whatever Braxton is doing.
But he's gotten more aggressive and will cry when Braxton takes a toy or try to get it back from him.

He is still a total mamas boy.
If Brian and I are both standing there, he will almost always crawl straight to me first.

He is such a lover... loves to come up give hugs/snuggles.
He can also give kisses too.

We've started giving him a sippy cup sometimes during the day and he loves it!
He's not great at the normal ones but can drink good out of the ones with a straw.

He is still sleeping through the night and goes to bed so good.
He chugs a bottle while we sit/rock in his room then when he's done, pushes it away turns over and snuggles right in.
He also sleeps with his little bum in the air...  I love it!

My parents are here for a few weeks for the holidays and he hasn't shown any interest in their two lab puppies.
He also doesn't really ever show interest in our kitties either.

He went through a weird phase for a few weeks where he started hating his baths.
He would start crying as soon as we put him in and he would stand and beg for us to get him out.
It was so strange since he used to love them.
He's back to liking them again so I guess it was just a random thing.

He hates when you go to wipe his nose or dig boogers out.
He is so quick too that half of the time its impossible to get.
If you persist, he'll really start crying and losing it.
