6 Months

{August 19th}

I think this is my favorite baby stage!
Everett is cute and squishy and just about the sweetest thing ever!

He is sitting up!
He started sitting around 5 1/2 months and it only took him about 3 days before he had it mastered.
He'll still fall over to the side or backwards every once in awhile, but he can sit there
on his own for quite awhile.

He is sleeping through the night about 80% of the time.
He will sleep all the way through the night for a week and then the next week will get up every night around 3:30am.  I'm not sure what is triggering it... hopefully now that he's eating more solids he'll get back to sleeping all the way through.

He is a great eater.
We started oatmeal around 5 months and he doesn't seem to care for it a ton.
But we started veggies and fruits just after 5 1/2 months and he's pretty pumped about those.
So far he's had: butternut squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, pears, apples, peaches and bananas.
We have him bananas in one of those little pouches he can chew/suck on and he went crazy for it!

We're pretty sure he's starting to teeth because he loves to chew on anything he can get his hands on!

He LOVES Braxton... his favorite person by far.
If brother is around, all attention is on him.
Braxton cracks him up with the most random things and I can't get enough of that belly laugh towards his brother.
He also cheeses out whenever he is sitting next to Braxton or gets to snuggle up next to him...
Eats it up!

Grabs at everything he can.
If he's sitting with you while you're eating, you better watch you're stuff.
He swipes your plate, fork, glass, etc with one quick grab and knocks stuff everywhere.
He also loves to grab my hair.
Its usually the first thing he goes for when I'm holding him or carrying him around.

He continues to jabber and holler and is making more distinct sounds.
We've heard him mumble mama and dada a couple times but nothing intentional yet.

{playing with his future wife, Avery}

Still not into rolling over at all.
He can do it both ways, but usually doesn't.

He has started to push up a lot on his arms when he does tummy time.
He gets frustrated that he's stuck there so crawling may be coming soon too.

He's started arching his back when he doesn't want to get buckled into his carseat or stroller.
He also arches when you unbuckle it to get him out, to show you he's ready to get out!

Once he's in the stroller, he loves taking rides.
Just sits there like a big boy so relaxed.

I completely weaned him from nursing at 5 months.
I made me so sad (and still does!) but he's doing great on bottles and formula.

He loves kitty cats and any other animal that comes close.

He loves the jumperoo.
He's got the hang of jumping and is finally tall enough to just barely reach the floor without any books underneath him.

He is the best snuggler!
If he is tired at all... he is all snuggles into your shoulder or chest and loves to be rocked to sleep.
He is also so great to put down to bed.
As soon as he starts fussing a little and rubs his eyes, we get on it!
Jammies, a bottle, and he passes right out usually around 7 or 7:30 every night.
He would totally put himself to sleep if we just laid him down awake too, but I love rocking him so much I can't give it up.  Especially on the days I work and don't get to see him much.

His eyes are finally turning more brown.
And his hair is darker than Braxton's was as well.
