Hello, World

We are so happy to welcome

21 inches long

We are so in love with our new little BOY!

This labor was completely different then last time which really threw off my expectations.
Braxton was 2 weeks early and I was only in labor for 7 hrs total (1st contraction - delivery)
Of course I was thinking this one would come early too...
I was just as big and uncomfortable and could feel the baby really low for the last couple of weeks.
Needless to say, I was super frustrated when 38 weeks came and went with no baby.

I had steady, pretty strong contractions for 6 days leading up to his delivery but they would never get closer then 20 minutes apart.  I could have sworn every night that we were having this baby but then my contractions would completely stop when I went to sleep.

We ultimately went in to get induced just after 39 weeks.
Luckily I had already dilated to 4 cm and was 80% effaced by then so they just ended up giving me a little pitocin overnight.
When my doctor showed up around 7:30 am, they set everything up right away, I pushed about 4 times and 5 minutes later we found out it was a baby boy!
(a large baby boy!)
It was such a fun moment to finally find out what our little peanut was!

We think he looks a lot like Braxton did as a newborn.
He has Brian's huge hands and long toes and my small chin.
And we are loving his little chubby belly and arms.

Braxton has been the sweetest big brother.
The first thing he said when he came to the hospital was
"baby came out of mama's tummy?"
He knows its his baby brother and his name is Everett and he'll go give him the occasional hug and kiss.
Otherwise, he only really pays him any attention when he cries.
He goes over and says "its ok, Everett"

We've had lots of family in town the last few weeks, which has been SO great!!
They have cooked and cleaned for us and spoiled Braxton rotten with attention.
We've definitely seen an increase in the tantrums and neediness of attention from mom and dad
but overall it hasn't been too bad.
We're hoping it doesn't get too much worse before it starts getting better.

We are pretty smitten with our new addition.
Love this little family of mine!
