2 1/2 Years

{February 28th}

I'm not really doing regular updates on Braxton anymore but he has been so much fun and changed so much lately I don't want to forget it all.

He is so loving and affectionate... will always give out hugs and kisses if you ask
He is quick to say "I love you" back to Brian and I if we say it and will often just bust it out on his own randomly.
Will also say "I love you" when he says goodbye to people on the phone.

He's been soo great about using his manners.
He will almost always say "thank you" after you help him or give him something
(without prompting)
If he is whiney, all you have to say is "how do you ask for that nicely?!" and he will say "please".
He also knows to say "excuse me" after he toots and to cover his mouth when he coughs.

Is still quite the negotiator...
its always "1 more book, 1 more song, or 5 more minutes"

Anytime you ask him what he wants for a snack, 99% of the time he says fruit snacks or applesauce.
He has a big sweet tooth!!  Loves any kind of candy, ice cream, or sweet treat. (oops!)

Has started to learn his right from his left from singing "hokey pokey" at school.

When we are driving, he calls out every stop light.
"red light!"  "green light!"....
He knows you stop at red and go at green.
He also recognizes and calls out stop signs and can hawk eye any plane flying in the sky.

Recognizes and points out when we pass Lowe's, daddy's office, or his school.

Loves to play catch, but thinks you have to wear gloves after watching Brian play indoor football.
He'll usually find a pair of his socks, put them on his hands and use those!

Has been soo good lately at playing/entertaining himself.
A lot of times he'll just go in his play room and start playing with his toys.
LOVE hearing him talk to himself and his little imagination.

Has been really into learning letters lately and can sing the entire ABC's on his own.
He loves to get out his "puter" and practice letters on the LeapFrog
and has become quite the puzzle whiz on our phone apps.

He can count to 15 and almost to 20.

Is still in the "I do it" phase that started a few months ago.

Has several of the books that we read at night memorized and likes to read them himself.

His favorite songs around Christmas and the month after were Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.
He requested we sing them every night before bed and can sing along with almost all of the words.
He also knows the words to Twinke Twinke Little Star and sings along to Sweet Chariot.

His talking has really exploded the last couple of months!
We are usually floored at the things that come out of his mouth.
He talks non stop in the car.

He also has a great memory and has started remembering 'promises' we make him...
like, going to 'Mickey's big house' (disneyland) when the baby comes, or random errands we need to run the next day.

He is 100% boy...
Loves cars, trains, tools, playing soccer and football, building forts, etc.

He doesn't like to color.
If we sit down to color something- he'll always ask you to color it and doesn't want to do it himself.
He does love to paint though.

His eating habits are still all over the place but he's been eating much better the last couple of months.
He isn't too picky, but still loves macaroni and cheese, hot dogs and sausage, any kind of pasta, applesauce, fruit squeezie pouches, cereal, cinnamon rolls, eggs, cheese and crackers and most fruit.

He was doing so great with potty training until the new baby came...
He still goes pee no problem on his own but has basically pooped his pants every day for the last 3 weeks.
It is getting so old but we aren't sure what to do...
We are just keeping on hoping that he'll get over it (since he clearly knows how to tell us)
Its pretty clear he's doing it for attention so the threat of going back to diapers doesn't phase him.

We are getting so anxious for warm weather around here because Braxton loves to play outside and go to the park.
When Brian is doing yard work, he loves to be outside with him and shadow him around.

He loves animals- especially puppies and our kitties.
He was best buds with my parents two labs when they were here when Everett was born.
He loves on Bonnie all day long but she keeps coming back and tolerates it so well.
Clyde usually hides from him but has become more tolerant of his 'hugs' and snuggles.

He can navigate around our iPhones and iPads like a champ.
He loves to play games, watch the Disney app and go through the pictures and videos of himself.

We are trying to introduce all the good Disney movies and he's loved each one so far!
He loves Cars, Cars 2, Planes, Lion King and now Toy Story.

He has the most fun personality and cracks us up every single day with the things he says and comes up with!
