{August 28th}
I can't believe this little man is already TWO years old!
I can't believe this little man is already TWO years old!
Time sure flies when you are having fun!
Braxton is still really into tools.
He can now open Brian's drill case, 'put in' the bit and actually drill things.
He loves to help with anything Brian is building or doing with tools.
He's also been really into Legos, cars and trains, and his Little People sets.
He's also been really into Legos, cars and trains, and his Little People sets.
He still loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and also Little Einsteins.
He'll follow the directions they give throughout the episode, like "clap your hands", "pat your tummy", "waive your hands in the air"
He is talking up a storm!
Loves being outside and Loved camping!
Even though it rained our entire last trip, he was pleased as punch the entire time.
Has started to memorize some of the books we read and can recite the pages he knows.
His favorite game is Hide and Go Seek.
Most of the time he gets so excited when he hides, he'll pop out and run back to you before you 'find him'
When he hides he'll yell "DADA..(pause)... me"
(for Dada, come find me!)
He also likes to be the finder.
Clearly I'm going to jinx myself, but he has been so good lately!
We rarely have meltdowns and its usually only when he's really tired or he's missed a nap.
He's also been pretty good at listening and following directions.
I can count to 3 and threaten time-out, and he's listening by "2"
(when we travel or his schedule is off... the listening and obeying goes way downhill)
When we do get to Time Out, it usually does the trick and he is very well behaved afterwards.
{playing hide and seek}
He's been going to bed really well.
Every once in awhile he'll snuggle while I rock him but he's usually too restless to sit still.
So we just put him in his crib and give him a kiss goodnight and he'll lay down and put himself to sleep.
Besides bedtime, he's all of a sudden gotten really snuggly!
He's never been one to sit and cuddle up, even as a baby.
But lately he is super affectionate and cuddly!
Biggest heart melter is when he says "Love You"
His favorite song is "In the Summertime" by Jerry Mungo.
As soon as we turn on the radio he'll say "no no no!!" and then start singing the rhythm of the chorus to request his song.
He has to buckle his own seatbelt in his car seat or there is a meltdown.
Also loves to buckle any other buckles... think backpacks, straps, etc.
Started getting his 2 yr molars in a couple weeks ago and this has been by far the worst experience with teething.
He is waking up more often at night crying, chewing on his hands a ton, and is really needy for mom/dad when we are out and about lately.
Knows all of his body parts, animal sounds, and colors ... but still having a little trouble saying "orange"
He is very impatient. When we are busy in the kitchen or cooking
and he wants us to pick him up, he gets between us and the cabinets and pushes on us.
It drives us crazy.
Knows what color eyes mama and daddy have and himself too.
Loves to wear our shoes around.
Brians tennis shoes and my black high heels are favorites.
He always goes back for the exact same pair every time.
Can eat with a fork really well and usually won't eat unless he has one.
He has become quite the little negotiator.
It's always "one more book", "one more Mickey", "one more slide"
(all while holding up 1 finger, ha!)
Macaroni and Cheese and hot dogs are his favorite foods.
He will also always eat french toast, scrambled eggs, and peanut and butter and jelly, and usually bananas.
We've started to bribe him with dum-dum suckers.
He used to only get them at the barber shop when he got his hair cut but we've started using them more when we're out running errands.
During his 2 yr check-up they gave him a sugar free sucker.
He took 3 licks, handed it back to me and said "yucky", Ha!
He knows the good stuff!
I still can't believe its been a whole two years since we brought him home.
Our lives have definitely changed so much but we are so crazy about this guy!
