{December 5th}
We decided to potty train Braxton the weekend after Thanksgiving.
We really don't want two babies in diapers and he's shown a lot of interest the last couple of months so we went for it.
Plus, this was our last free weekend with nothing going on for awhile and we wanted to give ourselves a big buffer to get it down before traveling for the holidays or baby comes.
I had read several things online but never really bought a book or stuck with a specific strategy.
I just pieced all the 'advice' together and hoped for the best.
Since we started introducing the potty a few months ago, he has gone both #1 and #2 on the potty before so we knew he could do it.
We started with putting his little potty chair in the open entry way and just leaving him naked the entire first day.
Every time he went #1, he got 1 M&M and 1 sticker for his chart
(2 of each for #2)
I tried to offer him a lot to drink so we'd have lots of opportunity to go and then asked him/made him try about every 30 min-1 hr.
And of course, lots of excitement and cheering every time he went.

For the first 4 days, we really only had 3 real accidents.
There were a handful more that were just a little because he couldn't get to the potty quick enough
(But I don't count those as 'real' accidents since he tried to go and told us he needed to go)
He gets annoyed when we ask him if he needs to go over and over and almost acts insulted based on his tone of voice when he says "no, mama!"
So we've really been pushing him telling us when he needs to go.
Its been two weeks so far and he's been doing great!
Going potty at school has been hit and miss because he fell in their little toilet one day and then was scared to sit on it after that. We've taken a new approach this week hoping it would work better and it has so far.
He has had 0 accidents the last 2 days so I think we're doing good.

We do still put a dipaer on him at naptime and bedtime.
(I tried a pull-up the first day but it just leaked and I'm not in the mood to wash sheets every day)
We've decided to not even do pull-ups during the day at all- even when we're out or traveling.
I just don't want to even put the thought in his head or tell him its OK to just go if he has one on...
I'd rather just go all in and work from there.
So far its working and seriously... is there anything more cute then this little bum in big boy underwear!?
