{April 28th}
We are really working on manners lately.
He both signs and says PLEASE pretty often and will sign THANK YOU now too.
Most of the time we have to ask him to say it, but he's starting to figure out
he can get what he wants when he says it on his own.
(mostly b/c its the cutest thing ever and how can we say no when he's used good manners?!)
The other night he woke up in the middle of the night crying.
We'll usually let him fuss/cry for a few minutes to see if he'll go back to sleep but he was saying
"Mama! Mama! Please!"
Broke my heart in a million pieces.
LOOVES to play outside!!
We've had some nice weather lately
(in the midst of our April snow storms)
and he will beg to go out and throw a fit when we try to bring him in.
He's into the rocks, kicking/carrying around the ball, and playing in the hose or water table.
We're having our side yard leveled and fenced in and I can't wait until its done so we can let
him loose in the back yard.
He's still going through phases at school where he freaks out when we drop him off.
He is always super clingy when he moves up a room and has a new teacher
but after a few weeks it gets much better when he's comfortable with them.
In the room he's in now, his regular teachers aren't there early when we drop him off
and its another teacher until she gets in.
I hate it b/c he gets so sad when we leave him, even though he's fine within 30 seconds and is always happy all day long.
He's about to move up rooms again next week and we'll have to start all over again.
I know he is ready and adjusts great with each room,
but I hate rocking the boat just as he's gotten really comfortable with his current teachers.
He has been picking up so many new words lately!
The other day he randomly pointed to an apple and said "apple", so clear.
(and we've never really introduced that word to him)
Other new favorites are: girl, boy, tools, hammer, outside, dirt ('deet'), and blankie ('bebe')

He will also attempt to repeat almost anything we ask him.
Has learned to say 'no' and use his opinion.
Brian and I die over his cute little voice and inflection when he says it.
Sometimes we ask him questions just to hear him say it.
Can recognize the colors yellow, blue, and green.
Can say red, purple & brown but can't pick them out yet.
He can recognize mine and Brian's cars and points to them and says "mama" or "dada's"
every time he sees them.
Loves to sit in the front seat and 'drive'.
He even knows that the keys go in the ignition.
He'll sit there forever moving the steering wheel and pushing all the buttons
Is very opinionated about music.
He knows within the first 5-10 seconds of a song if he likes it and will shake his head and
say "no" if he doesn't.
If you don't change it right away he will throw a fit.
(notice the trend with throwing fits lately?)

Then when you get to one he likes, he'll just sit there quietly listening.
Current favorites are "Call Me Maybe", Lion King soundtrack, anything by the Lumineers
and most techno. (ha!)
Has gotten really good at playing by himself.
He is totally content playing with his Little People stuff or
with other random toys. I love hearing his little voice as he talks to himself and plays pretend.
Still loves books and loves to be read to.
Is great about bed time.
As soon as we say its time to read books and go to bed, he'll follow us
right back to his room and climb up on the rocker waiting for you.
Even gives everyone a kiss and says "nigh nigh".
Is not so great about brushing his teeth.
Its a battle every night.
(we're pretty good about brushing every night... not so much in the morning. oops!)
He'll brush his own teeth by just moving around the toothbrush in his mouth
but clearly doesn't actually brush the teeth.
As soon as I take it and do it he fights and seals his lips and covers his teeth with his tongue.
Ugh... hate this battle.
Hoping this one passes quickly!
