1st Birthday

{September 2nd}

We celebrated Braxton's first birthday over Labor Day weekend!

We had 30+ of our closest friends over to hang out.

Knowing we had a large group, we didn't want to spend the entire night cooking at the grill so we picked up BBQ from one of our favorite places. 

I made mac & cheese and we grilled corn as extra sides and I just made cupcakes for dessert.

We didn't really do a theme... we just did blue/aqua/green/gray and had a few decorations:

Paper straws, bunting flags, balloons, and these darling invitations this sweet girl made for me after I saw the invite she made for her sisters baby shower.

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed when we have so many people over...

I feel like I only get to spend 5-10 minutes talking with each person, if I get to everyone at all.
I felt bad that so many people came to celebrate and I hardly got to catch up.

I didn't get a single picture of any of the details or any of our guests.

Or a single picture of Brian and I with our birthday boy... this one makes me sick

I recruited a friend to snap pictures of Braxton with his cupcake because I knew I wanted to be in the moment and not be taking pics, so luckily we have some of those!

He loved everyone singing to him and kept reaching to touch the candle.

And he LOVED the cupcake!

He was a little hesitant at first since he was just coming off his liquid diet and wasn't sure if he was allowed to dig in with his hands.

He ate all of the frosting one pincher-full at a time, and then dug in.

He was so proud... I love this happy boy!

Thank you to all of our awesome friends and family that came to party and that love Braxton so much!

We are so lucky!
