{July 7th - 13th}
Instead of traveling out to Oklahoma this summer we had Brian's out to visit us in Colorado.
We had the best week with them here.
Everyone but his dad and brother made it out and we packed their trip with lots of fun
We had the best week with them here.
Everyone but his dad and brother made it out and we packed their trip with lots of fun
We drove up one morning to hike St. Mary's Glacier.
We've done the hike once before with Brian's sister and brother in law when Braxton was really little but it was fun to do again. Its not too far out of town and really is a quick hike with lots of bang for your buck.
The 4 big boys hiked the whole thing on their own... and even if we were the slowest group up there, they did a good job.
The view at the top is incredible
Another day we headed back to the mountains and packed in a ton.
We started with biking Vail pass.
Brian and I have also done this before several years ago and its probably been the coolest thing we've done in the mountains. We've been dying to take our family up.
We rented bikes in Frisco and they shuttled up to the top of Vail pass.
Then we just bike the whole way back on the path that curves right in the valley between the mountains.
It is so so pretty!!
Ethan and Braxton biked on their own and did great, and the littles rode in the wee-hoo's.
The whole thing is downhill or flat so there is really no athletic ability needed.
We stopped half way and ate lunch in the Copper Mountain village
Just before we got back to Frisco, all 4 littles passed out.
After we returned bikes, we headed up to Breckenridge for the afternoon.
We rode the gondola up to the base of Peak 8, bummed around up there for a bit.
Then hung out in town, played in the river, and ate dinner.
Such a long day but so much fun.
We did lots of hanging out at the pool and splash pad.
On their last full day, we walked over to the swimming beach at Aurora Reservoir for the morning.
We've lived here 7 years and have never done this before.
But it was really fun and easy so we'll make it more next summer!
Its a quick 5 minute drive and 10 minute walk in.
They had a great set up with shaded picnic tables, a lifeguarded beach, playground, and decent bathrooms.
I cannot even handle this cute skinny baby in a baseball hat!
