{August 15th}
Braxton had his first day of Transitional Kindergarten today!
(also called Junior Kindergarten most places)
It's basically a class for those who meet the kindergarten cut-off but whose parents are waiting until they are around 6 to start.
And I think it basically mimics a kindergarten class... just goes at a little slower pace.
I'm sure he'll be more bored next year repeating a lot, but we feel good about holding him until he's 6 to officially start.
He was very ready to get back into school and start having a schedule and playing with friends,
but I sure miss my buddy during the day!
We had such a good schedule going during the summer and it just feels off without him there during all our errands.
But he is loving it and Everett has been an angel home by himself, so its working out.
He was really shy the first day and super timid to go in and start playing with new kids, which made me totally start crying when we dropped him off!
Luckily I held it together until we left his room.
He is still pretty shy most days when I say good bye but he seems to be adjusting well!
He has the sweetest teachers and seems to be doing good.
He says he has a 'great day' every day when i pick him up so thats a good sign.
We are still on the wait list where we wanted to go, but this school has been good so far.
The only downside is that it is a 20 min drive each way... which means its an hour round trip to take him and to pick him up every day.
