{April 16th}
Grayson started sitting up on his own just after 6 months!
After constantly being paranoid about his development and if there are any residual issues after his brain injury, it makes me so happy/relieved when he hits milestones.
So proud of this buddy!
We are still in occupational therapy every other week and are about to start physical therapy every other week as well. Since they will offset, we'll now have a session every week.
I'm still not crazy about our OT... I'm having a hard time meshing with her personality and I feel like she gets worked up over random things that don't really matter. Basically she just annoys me. But I loved our new PT that we met this week so I'm hoping we can just focus on her recommendations.
They are both still 'concerned' that he isn't rolling from his back to tummy, or even attempting it. They'd also like to see him grabbing things in the middle with both hands at the same time (which he's done... just isn't really proficient at) and because he hates tummy time, they are working on some other exercises that have him push up on his hands/arms and start tucking his knees up under him so he can learn to crawl.

He still LOVES the jumperoo!
He figured out how to jump with both feet at once and just goes nuts and is so happy in there as long as he can see everyone else hanging out or playing.
He's also figured out how to play with all the little gadgets that are on it and loves those too.
He seems to be over baby food and wants to go straight to real food.
Every once in awhile he'll chow down on an entire packet of baby food but usually he's over it in less than 10 bites or half way through if we're lucky. But he loves the teething crackers we've given him to chew on and and he loves puffs!! I think it feels good on his teething gums and he's starting to figure out how to chew on them pretty well. The only hiccup is that he hasn't figured out how to use his own hands to pick up food and bring it to his mouth. He can grab the crackers from us and hold those himself, but everything else he needs us to feed him little bites.
So we're kind of in a weird spot.
I think as he starts figuring out how to use his hands more we'll just bypass most of the baby food and go straight to table food like Everett did.
He has started to love bath time.
He's really happy laying on his back and loves to give big kicks to splash.
And now that he's sitting better, he's loving sitting in there too.
He does pretty well on his own if he's sitting on the sponge but we still hold on to him some.
He loves to chew on the toys and splash with his hands.
His hair is finally growing in.
It's still super short, but its a little more noticeable now.
He also has a major flat spot on the back of his head thats noticeable too. Oops.
Its a little offset to the right because he favored his right side early on (which apparently is super common in reflux babies).
Our pediatrician wasn't really concerned about it and now that he's sitting up more, hopefully it will start to round back out a little as he continues to grow.
He's in a great sleeping routine, but still not sleeping through the night.
Like clockwork, he'll take his last bottle and pass out around 6:30/7 pm. And like clockwork, he wakes up around 12:30/1 am for a bottle. He chugs it and passes right back out so its not a big deal.... but I am tired! Then he usually gets up around 6/6:30 am. He slept through the night until 5:30am ONCE (on my birthday!!) so every night I say a little prayer that he'll do it again.
I'm not sure I have it in me to sleep train the last baby just quite yet.
He does not have a great napping routine, ha!
But mostly because he is the third child and just gets hauled around where we need to be for the big boys during the day.
He'll always fall asleep and take his first nap ~2 hours after he woke up. But his afternoon naps are all over the place. Sometimes he has 2-3 short ones. Sometimes 1 longer ones. And he usually naps in his carseat or in the swing.
I've tried napping him in his crib when we are home on the weekends but he hasn't been a big fan so far. I need to work on doing 1 nap in the morning and then a consistent one in the afternoon.
I'm really anxious for school to get out so we can start a summer routine and I can get him on a solid nap schedule.
He still loves Braxton and Everett but they still don't pay him any attention.
Like, None.
They just pair off and go do big boy things.
Everett won't even touch him at all and I can barely get Braxton to hold him for pics.
The only place they seem to coexist is in the bath together, but even then, Everett won't let Grayson touch him.
He is a major mama's boy and definitely loves me the best!
I am usually the one who feeds him and puts him to bed and when I am out with girlfriends or someplace else, he throws a total fit if Brian tries to put him down.
He obviously ends up going with it but its so obvious how much happier he is when I do it.
He is still teething, but still no teeth.
He chews on everything he can and is drooling like crazy!!
But I don't feel anything popping in just yet.
