Braxton Updates

This is the age of extremes... when he's being good or cute, he's soo cute and cracks us up with the things he does and says.
When he's being bad... he is so rotten!
His tantrums lately are a total nightmare.

He always says "It will be alright, mommy" or "It will be fine"

He is so clumsy and accident prone.
The other day he was running down the sidewalk and tripped over his shoe or something- scraping his knees, arms, nose and lip.  One hour later he was climbing on the couch and fell off the back, splitting open his head.

Whenever he wants something or wants to do something... he rambles it off and then ends his sentence with "right?!", like it was your idea.

He has such a great memory!
He always remember what we are planning to do for the day if we tell him beforehand.

He has really been into singing.
This melts my heart!!
He can sing "You are my Sunshine", but always wants to change 'gray' to 'blue'
(since the sky is blue... and its only gray when the storms come in)
He can also sing 'Sweet Chariot', 'Itsy Bitsy Spider', 'Helper Kind of Good' and a few others he's learned at school.

We have a map up in his room and he's learned almost half of the states.

He has learned that yellow and blue make green and that red and blue make purple from using the color changing tablets in the bath tub.

Is still obsessed with Sherriff Callie's Wild West on Disney Junior.
It has become quite the bargaining tool for us.
He's also picked up some funny phrases from the show...
The other day he busted out "what in tarnation are you doing?!"

He's informed us that he wants chocolate cupcakes with yellow sprinkles for his birthday.

He talks nonstop, but gets super shy around people he doesn't know or unfamiliar situations.

He has become quite dramatic lately... if he doesn't get his way or his feelings get hurt just a little bit, he puts on this big pouting scene and sulks around waiting for you to give him pity.

Still loves to help Brian with everything... putting things together, mowing the lawn, etc.

He has started putting on and taking off his own clothes.
Sometimes they are backwards or inside out, but its a start!

He loves to come with me to get Everett up out of his crib in the mornings.

At least half of the time, he wakes up in the morning and from his nap in a super grumpy mood.
It is the worst!
He'll whine and cry... sometimes for 30 minutes straight and nothing seems to cheer him up.

4 Months

{June 19th}

We had a busy May and I missed Everett's 3 month update, so I'll try to capture everything this month.

4 Month Stats
Weight: 14 lb, 11 oz (32%)
Height: 25 3/4" (75%)

Little man keeps getting cuter and cuter- I almost can't handle it!
If you even look in his direction he dishes out the smiles...
He is such a flirt!
We've also gotten some belly laughs out of him the last couple of weeks.

He sucks/chomps on his hands all the time and anything else he can get in his mouth.
I'd say they are in his mouth about 80% of the time.

He is trying to roll over from his back to his tummy and is getting so close!
He can roll all the way over but can't figure out how to get his arm out of the way and just lays there on it.
He hasn't really attempted to roll from his tummy to his back yet.

He still hates tummy time but will at least tolerate it now for several minutes.

I started work after Memorial Day and he started daycare at the beginning of June.
He is doing good, but it still breaks my heart to leave him there.
I was so sad the first day we dropped him off.

He started sleeping through the night at 14 weeks.
We put him down between 8 and 9 and he has been sleeping until 5:30/6:30 in the morning.
He hit a growth spurt just before 4 months and started waking up twice at night again... ugh.
He's just started sleeping through the night again or only wakes up once, and I'm hoping it sticks.
He is so sweet I honestly don't know if I could sleep train him.
He also always wakes up happy, even if he's hungry.

He also likes to sleep in...
If he wakes up to eat before 7, he'll always fall back asleep until 7 or 7:30.

He has been such an angel baby!
He is very easy to read and still only fusses when he's hungry, has a burp or is getting sleepy.

He makes so many sweet baby noises and loves to coo.

We have stopped swaddling him at night because he wiggles so much it would work the blanket up near his face and then he'd grab on and suck on it.
He seems to be doing just fine and still sleeps soundly without the swaddling.

He is super ticklish on his sides and up around his neck.

He is definitely a mama's boy.
It usually takes him a few minutes for him to warm up to anyone else but mom or dad but I am clearly the favorite
(and I secretly love it!)

He isn't on a definite schedule yet but seems to stay awake for about an hr or so after he eats before he wants to go down for a nap.
He also seems to take his longest naps first thing in the morning and late afternoons.

He loves Braxton and loves watching him.
He is totally focused on him if Braxton is playing anywhere near him.

He has started to drool quite a bit.

We started supplementing with formula just before 4 months too.
I just wasn't pumping enough at work to keep up with him.
We started with just regular formula and he seems to be tolerating it fine, but the last week he has been soo gassy and just holds onto so many burps.
We just switched to the gentlease kind hoping that helps with the gas and tummy aches.

We can't seem to get enough of this sweet baby and he has definitely sealed his spot!
Couldn't imagine our little family without him!

Parker Days

{June 15th}

We hit up Parker Days for Fathers Day this year and Braxton had a blast.
He was really shy about all the bouncy things and wouldn't go alone.
But once we found the little train and petting zoo he was pretty pumped.

Daddy's Workbench

{June 12th}

Braxton is such a good little helper when Brian is building things.
He loved helping with the workbench and then drifts off to entertain himself in Brian's tools.

He kept pretending that the air compressor was a gas station

Chass's Wedding

{June 7th}

My best friend Chass got married in Steamboat and we had a great time celebrating her and Jeff.
So happy these two finally tied the knot!

Emily's Graduation

{May 21st - 26th}

We usually spend 4th of July in Broken Arrow with Brian's family but Emily graduated from high school this year so we spent a long Memorial Day weekend out there instead.

Emily is the youngest of Brian's siblings and finally done with high school!
We had a great weekend celebrating her and hanging out with everyone.
It was a pretty uneventful weekend but somehow we stayed busy the whole time.
Lots of playing with our cousin, Ethan, and lots of popsicles.

Our flight there got delayed for 6 hours due to storms and tornados near the Denver airport.
These boys were such champs during our 8 hr stay at the airport.
We only had to bust out the iPad the last 30 minutes for Braxton and then the poor buddy
finally crashed on the plane
(we took off at 10pm and didn't land until midnight)
